Sure they wouldn’t turn down a run if it was the only option but anyone building/buying a car is going to have a manual in it. The auto just eats power and takes away so much of your ability to control the dynamics of the car.

You’re right, there is a drawback for sure.

When I was looking there weren’t a ton of 5spd awd options available that I could afford to start with. I knew as a novice all I really needed was a car that could get to the event and back. Turned out great even though it was 4eat;

Ran for a few seasons and had a blast, so much fun driving something when I didn’t need to worry about balling it up. 

I’m glad I didn’t sit around waiting for the perfect car.
